ABOUT LET LOOSE
Let Loose started with four friends who met at university in Cardiff and, years later, somehow ended up trying to build a festival together on Ken’s family farm in Mid Wales.
In July 2026, after a lot of planning and an unwavering optimism, we opened the gates for the first time.
The weeks leading up to it were a blur of painting, hammering, carrying, fixing and asking everyone we knew for help. It was 30-plus degrees, everything took longer than expected and there were plenty of moments where we wondered what we’d got ourselves into. Friends came down to help build. Local suppliers got involved. People lent us equipment, gave us advice, filled gaps and said yes when we needed them to.
By the time the weekend arrived, Let Loose already belonged to far more people than just the four of us.
Then we sold out. And everyone else turned up.
People danced to artists they hadn’t heard before, made friends with strangers, dressed up, got stuck in and treated the farm with so much care. The field stayed clean, people looked after each other and the whole weekend ended up feeling warmer, funnier and more special than we could have planned for.
We’d spent months trying to make a festival, but it was the people who came that made it feel like Let Loose.
We’re still fully independent, still owned by the same four mates and still very much learning as we go. We want to keep supporting emerging artists, working with local people and businesses, looking after the farm and making something that feels personal while it’s still small enough to do that properly.
Mostly, we just feel very lucky that people believed in it with us the first time.
So we’re heading back to the field in July 2027.
